Developing integrated capital deployment and reliability improvement strategiesWhen a business needed to increase capacity of its existing manufacturing facility, multiple reliability improvement and capital expansion projects were commissioned. The outcome of each project impacted the requirements for the other projects. A RonaMax computer simulation model allowed different projects to evaluate their business impact as a function of the success of other projects. For example, the model was used to justify reducing the size of a new unit based on the assumed success of another reliability improvement project. The final result: RonaMax analysis allowed the business to identify how to save $6 Million on a $30 Million investment.
