Optimizing shutdown schedule

A waste treatment system required more planned downtime than its primary manufacturing process.  During the annual waste treatment shutdown, the waste storage tank would first fill and then shut down the plant.  A RonaMax simulation model was used to develop a mini-shutdown schedule that minimized plant downtime associated with waste treatment outtages.   The model predicted the incremental production and waste tank level as a function of

Optimizing the waste treatment shutdown schedule ultimately resulted in 7 more days of production.
